Your maternity luxury session
- How it works
At Ella Bar Photography we specialize in creating a luxury experience. From start to finish, our focus is on providing you with exceptional service and a comfortable environment so we can create beautiful artwork that will be cherished for years to come.
- Scheduling
Maternity sessions are best photographed between 29 and 35 weeks. We recommend booking at least 1-2 months in advance to ensure availability.
- Customized Experience
All maternity sessions are tailored specially to you with various artistic lighting setups, poses, and outfits. We will closely work with you on your ideas and expectations and will make sure your vision becomes a reality.
- Makeup & Hair
Professional hair & makeup artistry is recommended for stunning portraits and is included with most of our packages. Feel free to sit back and relax while being pampered by our amazing glam team before your maternity session. Additional Cost (Depends on Artist)
- Your Session
Even if this is your first professional photography experience, our goal is to ensure you feel comfortable, relaxed, beautiful, and (most importantly) confident! Throughout your session, you’ll be guided into a variety of poses that ensure you look exquisite in your final portraits.
- Wardrove
We have a beautiful selection of classic & couture gowns, beautiful silk fabrics, and lace robes.
- Selecting Your Portraits
Within 1 week of your session, you will receive your online proof gallery to view & select your images. You will have 2 days to select your favorite portraits for editing. Within 4-6 weeks after you finalize your selection, edited images and print products will be ready.
- Retouching
Professional photo retouching is included in your session, so don’t stress over little imperfections such as blemishes, cellulite, and body contours. We specialize in the most comprehensive and detailed editing and will enhance and transform images into stunning works of art.
Editing Services
- 1 - 10 high end retouched photos - 45$ Each
Our editing and retouching service include making any necessary adjustment to skin texture, removing any imperfections, removing any blemishes, adding brightness to teeth, hair editing, outlook adjustment (we can smooth out any wrinkles showing on one's clothing), body sculpting (if needed) and background retouching. All you need to do is let us know what you want to change in your photos.
If you happen to have any particular preferences, please let us know. Our goal is to make you 100% satisfied with the end result. Our high end retouching service are all about keeping the details and texture within and image. So that is looks as natural as absolutely possible once we finish.
The turnaround time is 1-3 days.

When is the best time to book a maternity session?
It’s best to book your session between 29 and 35 weeks of pregnancy. Sooner than later with every subsequent pregnancy, or if you’re having twins.
When do I get in touch with the studio?
It’s never too soon to book your maternity session. We want to make your maternity photoshoot experience exciting and comfortable for you. We suggest getting in touch with the studio at least a month prior to your preferred date to ensure availability. We will try our best to fit you into the schedule at the most convenient date.
Where do maternity sessions take place?
All sessions are held in our Tarzana studio, Los Angeles.
Can I opt out of hair/makeup service?
Professional portrait makeup application has a huge role in the formation of the image and significantly affects the final result. I shoot with studio lights which highlight what might not be noticeable in daylight. In addition, a face without makeup will look flat and inexpressive. Professional makeup helps hide skin imperfections and draws the correct light and tone pattern on the face. You won’t reach this effect if you do your own makeup.
Can my partner or child(ren) be included in the photos?
Of course! We love when families or couples want to capture memories together. Your partner may be included in all of our sessions. You may include children in the portraits with our Classic and Deluxe sessions.
Do you provide wardrobe?
Yes! Our studio provides a full wardrobe for the Classic and Deluxe packages that includes an exquisite selection of beautiful fabrics, couture gowns, and bodysuits.
How do I get ready for the photo shoot?
You will receive a detailed session prep guide prior to your session with instructions and suggestions on how to get ready for your photo session.
Do I have to be nude?
Not at all. All of our maternity sessions are customized and tailored to the wants and needs of each client. Some clients prefer clean and simple artistic nude photographs and wraps, while others prefer to be fully clothed.
Do you provide raw files?
We currently do not offer them. Why? We take great care to ensure that each and every photo from your shoot is edited and touched up to our highest standards. We want to deliver a finished product that showcases your beauty and captures memories you can treasure.
